Initial Cause of Data Loss

EHDR receive a call from a customer. She needs our help to recover data for her data from Android Samsung Galaxy Note 20. As explained, this phone’s screen blackout after charging it overnight a few days ago. Furthermore, she tried to touch the screen and pressed the power button, but the phone does not respond to any of her actions. Then, she connects this phone to the charger, hoping that it will boot up successfully. Unfortunately, when she powers it on, the phone has no response at all. She tried to google and followed some instruction and guide online and it still doesn’t help. She has a lot of documents, photos, videos, and other important data on the phone that need to be recovered.

Phones Data Recovery

EHDR’s engineering team dismantles the phone to verify its internal condition. There is no watermark found, a short circuit was found on the motherboard, and hardware failure, we are not sure what is the reason causing this but likely to be wear and tear. Abnormal heat was generated on the motherboard, but recovery will be still possible if the CPU, memory chip, and other essential chips are not damaged. Chip-off recovery method was confirmed, and the recovery process was finished within one week.

Data Recovery Outcome

The data recovery was successfully done, and our recovery specialist manage to recover all the data from her phone. We contacted her for data checking, she was very happy because all the data were recovered. All recovered data were transferred to an external hard disk for her. She managed to transfer all the data to her new phone.
