We have receive a SEAGATE ST500DM002 hard disk driver from one of our oversea customers to seek our assistant to retrieve and recover all his important data from his desktop hard disk driver. Our customers have try to plug in the hard disk drive to another PC to try to  perform data recovery by  himself, under disk management being unable to detect the hard disk drive and he decide to send to data recovery centre. He has sought from several data recovery service centre to get his hard disk repair and without any success to get back his important data.

Our data recovery specialist have noticed that the hard disk did not vibrate at all which is an indication sign that the read/write head is properly stuck. As our data recovery specialist suspect there is physical damage within the hard disk itself, we decided to open the hard drive for further inspection. When doing the hard disk surgery, our data recovery specialist went into the clean room to ensure no additional dust gets into the hard drive to prevent further damaging the hard drive during inspection.

Upon opening the hard drive, he discovered the read/write head for the defect hard drive is stuck in position and couldn’t align correctly.

Our data recovery specialist advice suggests to our customer that the only possible way was to replace the read/write from a healthy hard disk.

After data recovery surgery, our data recovery specialist connects the “new” disk to our own Data Recovery Tool, and test Hard Disk heads to ensure it manage to reach by our hard disk recovery tools. But this time round we encounter another issue shows a firmware was corrupted.
