Case description:

A customer engaged us to diagnose for his internal INTEL SSD 660p 1TB - SSDPEKNW010T8 from his laptop. The laptop stopped working since last week, when he tried to power on, the laptop failed to boot up. It prompts no drive were detected. He tried to reboot for a few times, but it is still the same. He tried to remove the SSD from the laptop and cleaned the connector with a tissue, but it is still the same. He also tried to read it with a SSD enclosure, but it is still undetectable. He had some important work documents and email files on the SSD that he needs.

Action (Solution):

EHDR’s data recovery specialist proceeds with the checking and found that the SSD failed due to hardware issues. The SSD had degraded, which causes it inaccessible and undetectable, information were not readable and data sectors inaccessible. However, there were no abnormal heat found on the SSD. Overall, the condition of the SSD is decent, but the recovery is still possible if the crucial components were not damaged. After the confirmation, we proceed with the recovery.

The Outcome

The recovery took around a week, but we successfully recover the data from the SSD. Our client checked the data and mentioned that all the email and work files were recovered, and all the files are working and readable. He is very happy with the result of the recovery.
