Toshiba 2.5” MK3263GSX
Toshiba hard disk Keep Disconneting During Transfer
Initial Cause of Data Loss
A customer contacted us to diagnose his Toshiba 2.5” MK3263GSX – 320GB external hard drive. It stopped working last week when he tries to transfer some files for work. When he connects the drive to his PC, the computer can detect the hard drive and access the files, but when he transfers the files, it automatically disconnected after a while. He tried several times, but it is still the same. He thought it could be a loose cable and tried to change the cable, but it was still the same. The hard disk starts to click after that.
Hard Disk Data Recovery
EHDR’s data recovery specialist checked through the hard drive, the hard disk is not detectable, and it has a clicking sound. The read/write heads are malfunction, that is why it stopped when he transfers the video files. Based on the condition of the drive, data recovery is still possible since the platter of the drive is in good condition. After the confirmation with our client, we proceed with the recovery for the hard drive.
Data Recovery Outcome
Our data recovery specialist managed to recover the data from this hard drive and transferred the recovered data to a new external hard drive. He checked through all the data and was happy with the result of the recovery, all the files are in working condition.
Suggestion
If you have a faulty hard drive and you need the data, it is best to contact a data recovery center for a diagnosis and run through the appropriate data recovery process to avoid further damage to the drive. Please feel free to contact us if you require any data recovery services or backup solutions.
