WD 4TB Western Digital HDD Recovery-No Sign of Connection

Western Digital External Hard Disk Drive

A customer contacted us to diagnose his 4TB Western Digital 2.5” external hard drive. It is an old hard drive that he bought many years ago. He found that the drive stopped working when he try to do some work. When he connects the drive to his PC, computer cannot detect the drive anymore, the is no light on the hard disk anymore. He tried to hold the USB drive to the USB connector, and he can see the light is blinking and computer detected the hard disk, but it only lasts for a while and it will power off again, he tried the same thing, but it doesn’t work anymore. He has some important work data on the drive need to be recovered.

Singapore data recovery specialist checked through the hard drive, it spins up successfully and there’s no clicking or beeping noise. The drive is inaccessible, the read/write heads are faulty and not able to access the data sectors properly. Based on the condition of the drive, data recovery is still possible since the platter of the drive is in good condition. After the confirmation with our client, we proceed with the recovery for the hard drive.

Our data recovery specialist manages to recover the data from this hard drive. We transferred the recovered data to a new external hard drive for our client. He checked through all the data and satisfied with the result of this recovery.

If you have a faulty hard drive and you need the data, it is best to approach a proper Singapore data recovery centre for a diagnosis and run through the appropriate data recovery process to avoid data loss. Please feel free to contact us if you require any data recovery services or backup solution.
