What is Server?
A server is a software and hardware that linked with the network. It allows clients to request and receives response. Through server, the user can configure it to access to a network, send or receive email, manage tasks, or host a website. It is important to maintain your server and keep it on as it constantly delivers service. If the servers failed, it would affect the whole business and user daily task. There are many types of server and we will discuss some of it in this blog.
File Server
It is used to store and share files. There will have multiple users can access the data at the same time. It will be used by organization to maximize the work’s efficiency.
Domain Name System Server (DNS)
This type of server provide name to a domain. For example, YouTube, Facebook, Linkedin and etc. This server is able to distribute huge among of data at the same time.
Mail Server
It is a very common type of server. You may refer it as e-mail server. It handles and delivers e-mail over a network through internet. As it is continuously running, mail server always ready to send and receive mail rather than requiring every client machine to have its own email system.
Common Types of Failure
